Position Description:
Part Time Sales Assistant

What You Will Be Doing:

- Providing dedicated administrative support to a VALIC Financial Advisor
- Monitoring and managing the Financial Advisors calendar
- Monitoring and managing incoming sales leads
- Responding quickly to the Financial Advisor’s requests or the clients request for forms, statements, or sales literature
- Processing all sales paperwork and forms for the Financial Advisor.
- Phone work, to include setting appointments with existing clients
- Assisting with preparing client mailings
- Preparing routine correspondence and completing office tasks such as copying, taking messages, distributing mail items, etc.
- Putting together new client enrollment packets
- This position will not perform selling duties, nor advise clients.

Requirements:

- To be successful in this position, the candidate must be skilled in verbal communication and have the ability to interact effectively with internal and external contacts.
- The candidate must consistently exercise discretion in handling client interactions, and in directing clients to the appropriate party for resolving problems or complex issues.
- The candidate must demonstrate strong organizational skills.
- The candidate must be proficient with applicable personal computer applications, including managing MS Outlook & Lotus Notes e-mail databases, MS Word processing,
MS Excel, and MS Powerpoint,
- The candidate must also acquire and maintain a working knowledge of VALIC sales materials and the corresponding ordering procedures for these materials, as well as the regulations pertaining to client contact.
- A laptop computer will be provided.

Hours & Compensation:

- 15-19 hours per week, Monday – Friday, Flexible schedule
- Hourly pay rate at $10.00/ hour
- No securities licensing required
- Person hired for this position will work in the district office
- Training will be provided by the Financial Advisor and other district office staff

Specific Requirements:

- High school graduate, or equivalent
- Three years of office or other clerical experience, including two years in a marketing, insurance, financial services, or customer service environment is a plus.
